What is Healthcare Domain

Healthcare is the field of maintenance or improvement of physical and mental health of people through consultation, diagnosis, treatment and recovery of disease or illness or any other impairments. Physicians, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists, nurses, surgeons, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, homoeopathic and ayurvedic doctors, physiotherapists, service providers at rehabilitation centres, etc. are a part of the extensive healthcare system. 

Access to healthcare may differ across countries, communities and cultures depending on these factors –

• Economic (monetary conditions such as high or low income)
• Social (trust on which kind of cure such as Ayurveda or Allopathy) 
• Political terms (policies formed by the government in this sector to make it affordable such as Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Yojana – its objective is to provide healthcare services to more than ten crore low-income families in urban and rural areas).

An efficient healthcare system creates a substantial share in the country’s economy (it comprises more than 10% of GDP for most of the developed nations such as the US). According to the World Health Organization, a well-functioning healthcare system requires high investment, educated and trained staff, access to reliable data based on thorough research and robust health facilities to deliver quality medicines and treatment.
